K-12 Energy Education

The interdisciplinary topic of energy resources can be embedded throughout K-12 curriculum. Whether you are teaching fourth graders the history of Wyoming or sophomores the laws of physics, energy resource studies can serve as a fascinating, real-world topic to engage students. These energy lesson plans support your efforts to integrate energy topics into your class in any subject area.

Malcom Wallop Civic Engagement Program K-12 Virtual Library

The Wallop K-12 project has created a catalog of content that is available to Wyoming teachers free of charge. Recordings include thought provoking questions that K-12 classes can follow up on. Energy content experts produce a 2-page teacher resource guide that accompanies the topic that includes additional information, discussion questions/activities, and additional resources. Wallop organizes the online catalog such that classroom teachers can easily find content. Classroom teachers make use of the catalog as best suits their needs. They can schedule a synchronous “Ask Me Anything” discussion with the faculty member after their class has used the videos/handouts. You can check out the video library on WyoLearn here.
