Bio
Clare Gunshenan is a Professional Development Specialist in the Science and Mathematics
Teaching Center at the University of Wyoming. She recently joined Martha and Ana in
facilitating the K-12 science teacher professional development around Wyoming. Clare
brings a background in non-formal and place-based education, and has been working
with the new science standards since 2017.
Role: Staff Outreach Educators serve on the SMTC’s professional learning teams that in
turn serve Wyoming’s K-12 schools and teachers. Their roles and responsibilities include
planning and carrying out professional learning sessions for district and open enrollment
workshops, coordinating travel and programming logistics, seeking grants and contracts,
supporting with grant and contract reporting, disseminating work in publications and
conference presentations, and fostering school district, University, teacher, and
community partner relationships. This role is highly collaborative with other professional
learning team members, and supports the SMTC’s mission of supporting K-20 excellence
in science and mathematics education.
