Scheduling and Access Information
Reserving the Data-X Studio (SIB 4030)
The Data-X Studio is available to University of Wyoming faculty, staff, students, and approved collaborators for teaching, research, outreach, and project activities.
Option 1: Outlook rESERVATIONS (PREFERRED)
SIB 4030 is available as an Outlook Exchange Resource. To request a reservation, add SIB 4030 as the location in your Outlook meeting invitation. Outlook's Scheduling Assistant can be used to view room availability before submitting your request.
Reservation requests are reviewed and approved by School of Computing staff. Questions
may be directed to uwyo-soc@uwyo.edu.
Option 2: rESERVATION Form
If you do not have access to Outlook meeting invitations, you may submit a reservation request using the online reservation form.
Access to the Studio
A room reservation alone does not guarantee access to the space. The Data-X Studio is located within the Science Initiative Building and remains locked when not scheduled for use.
To ensure access:
- All use of the Data-X Studio must be reserved in advance.
- Access arrangements must be coordinated through the School of Computing as part of the reservation process.
- For approved reservations, the room door may be scheduled to unlock during the reserved time period.
- Users should not assume the room will be open simply because a reservation has been requested or submitted.
For recurring projects, research activities, or extended use requests, please contact the School of Computing to discuss appropriate access arrangements.
Onsite Access Assistance
If you arrive for a scheduled reservation and require assistance accessing the room, you may contact Bryce Dutcher, Facilities Manager for the Science Initiative Building, for onsite access support. Assistance is subject to staff availability and verification of an approved room reservation.
Please note that onsite access assistance is intended as a backup option and does not replace the requirement to reserve the space in advance.
Important Notes
- Each individual use session must be reserved through the reservation system.
- Users without an approved reservation may be denied access to the space.
- Requests for special access, recurring reservations, or unique project needs should be discussed in advance with School of Computing staff.
For assistance with reservations or access questions, contact uwyo-soc@uwyo.edu.
