Trail Pause

Taking a break from classes

A "Trail Pause" takes place when a student is not enrolling for the next semester. Our team of Cowboy Coaches will be calling over summer and winter breaks to see if you need any support registering, or if you are taking a Trail Pause for a different reason. We are here to ensure you have support with the next steps. Any student who has questions about the process of a Trail Pause can email comeback@uwyo.edu and we'll be happy to provide answers.

Trail Pause vs. All School Withdrawal

A Trail Pause for students occurs when they finish out their whole semester and decide to take a break for a semester or more by not registering for classes the following semester. All grades are still entered into the transcripts for the previous semester

An All-School Withdrawal occurs in the middle of the occurring semester, resulting in a “W” indicator being placed on the transcript. More information about an All-School Withdrawal can be found here.
