Employee International Travel to Countries WITH Advisory Levels 2
Pre-Trip Requirements for
International Travel to a Country with a Travel Advisory:
- Employees traveling without students:
- Submit your travel information and be sure any other employees traveling with you do the same.
- Risk Management will notify you if the country you are traveling to requires additional
insurance or has other requirements
- Enroll in the US Department of State Smart Traveler Enrollment Program
- Review the International Travel Checklist
- Employees traveling with Students:
- If a country is Advisory Level 2, you must review the advisory to determine if there
are any areas within the country identified as “do not travel” or “reconsider travel.”
If these additional advisories exist then you must go through the Heightened Risk
Travel Review process to address those additional concerns. If the advisory does not
contain “do not travel” or “reconsider travel” within the country, you can proceed
without the Heightened Risk Travel Review process. For heightened risk Level 2 countries
just described and for all Level 3 and 4 countries, receive Provost approval of the
trip by submitting the Heightened Risk Travel Request Form [*form instructions*] to the International Travel Review Committee. Please note the request must be submitted
enough in advance to go through the review process and receive Provost approval before
any expenditures are made for travel to such locations.
- Submit your travel information:
- Each employee in the group must record travel information and be sure each student records their travel using the instructions on the student international travel page
- Enroll in the US Department of State Smart Traveler Enrollment Program
