About the Chemical Engineering Quickstart Program
The quickstart program in chemical engineering gives students the opportunity to pursue both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in chemical engineering at UW. Students begin by working toward their bachelor’s degree and apply for the quickstart program during their junior or senior year. Once accepted, you’ll begin master’s coursework and will also be eligible to complete research alongside our esteemed faculty.

This program is designed for chemical and biomedical engineering students with a GPA of at least 3.5. Students may apply for the quickstart program during the second semester of their junior year or during their senior year. For additional information and an application form, please contact the graduate program coordinator at che-info@uwyo.edu.

What can you do with a chemical engineering degree?

Our chemical engineering students have many opportunities to grow their professional networks and learn skills that will serve them for the duration of their careers. Students regularly travel to conferences, where they meet potential employers, network with peers and present their work. Additionally, students are encouraged to get involved with on-campus organizations, where they’ll connect with other students and attend guest lectures and expert panels.
Typically, this program takes students five years to complete! In an effort to help students progress through both the B.S. and M.S. degrees in a timely and efficient manner, students are allowed to begin their master’s curriculum as an undergrad. Students can also count up to six credit hours toward both degrees.
“The QuickStart BS/MS program greatly enriched my experience at UW. The program is big enough to provide exposure to great research tools and diverse colleagues while being small enough to enable rich mentoring relationships. My career has particularly benefited from the personalized scientific communication coaching that I received through the QuickStart BS/MS program.”
