About the Drawing Minor

Drawing is the foundation of all visual arts. That’s why our students learn foundational painting and illustration techniques alongside an advanced drawing curriculum.

Outside of their regular classes, students are encouraged to attend Croquis, free weekly extracurricular life drawing sessions from the nude model, sponsored by the Department's student organization, the Student Art League.

Students pursuing a B.A. in Art History may minor in a studio discipline. However, students pursuing a B.A. or B.F.A. in Studio Art or a B.A. in Art Education cannot minor in a specific studio discipline, such as drawing.

Students should plan on a minimum of five semesters to complete a drawing minor due to upper-division course prerequisites.

Please note that all courses require a minimum grade of C to earn a minor.
