About the Interdisciplinary Pre-Law Minor
Students pursuing a pre-law degree have the opportunity to take unique courses in many different subjects. So they graduate having learned about topics that interest them, legal career options and important legal processes.

The pre-law minor program requires 18 credit hours. 12 of which must be 3000 or 4000 level courses. Additionally, 12 of the 18 hours must be outside the student’s primary major. All coursework must be completed with a grade of C or better to be counted toward the minor.

What can you do with an interdisciplinary pre-law minor?
While most of UW’s interdisciplinary pre-law students go to law school and become
lawyers, there are many things you can do with a pre-law minor.
The interdisciplinary nature of the program means that you complete communication,
history and creative courses — in addition to those relating to a legal career. So
whether you pursue a career in law, business, academia or another field — you’re gaining
valuable skills and education.
