About the Master’s in Math Education
This master’s program allows teachers to further their education and careers through a flexible curriculum. Core courses are offered on campus in Laramie, WY for three weeks each June. During this time, students connect with other math teachers to take unique courses, network and build community.
Our students take additional courses online throughout the fall and spring semesters.
These courses are offered synchronously, meaning students join live online sessions
at scheduled times so they can connect with other math teachers and their professors!
All graduates receive the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) endorsement
for middle-level mathematics.

To be considered for the program, teachers must:
- Have at least two years of teaching experience
- Submit a writing sample in response to the provided prompts
- Have a valid teaching license
- Provide three letters of recommendation, including a letter from your principal or employer

Why get a master’s degree and a middle-level math endorsement?
There are many reasons teachers benefit from additional education. In addition to bringing new STEM knowledge to your classroom, you’ll learn new teaching techniques and build a network of math teachers from across the state that you can share expertise and resources with. Many of our graduates also advance their careers by receiving an additional endorsement and degree. This often improves teachers’ pay scales and may help them achieve new positions or promotions.
Our graduates have a 100% job placement rate in school districts across Wyoming.
Our program is proud to report that over 90% of students complete the program.
Absolutely! Our program was designed for working teachers and professionals. The flexible schedule allows you to take online courses during the fall and spring, while core courses are in-person during the summer.
Getting your master's degree can boost your teaching career, leading to higher pay, stronger job security and makes you more eligible for leadership roles such as a curriculum specialist, department head or instructional coach. This program will deepen your teaching skills and content knowledge, which can also improve classroom confidence and student outcomes.
