She was awarded the International Education Administrators Fulbright grant to Germany in 2009. Her interest in different cultures led her to study abroad as an undergraduate in Ireland and to continue traveling extensively throughout her career. Studying abroad not only changed her as a person but inspired her to work in the field to help others have similar experiences whether by internationalizing the campuses where she works or supporting students in their study abroad journey.
Shelley’s areas of interest are in creating meaningful community partnerships abroad and maximizing the impact of short-term programming through experiential education and service learning. She is committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in education abroad and works to create access for all students at UW. In her free time, Shelley is a mom to three little people and one spotted dog. She enjoys exploring all the beauty of Wyoming with her family, trying new foods and traveling of course!
