About Wyoming INBRE

The University of Wyoming is one of 24 institutions funded by the National Institutes for Health (NIH) IDeA Networks for Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) Program. The program funds statewide networks of higher education and research institutions in each IDeA-state and Puerto Rico to build biomedical research capacity through support for faculty research and mentoring, student participation in research, and research infrastructure enhancement at network institutions. Wyoming INBRE Statewide Network

The Wyoming INBRE statewide network is comprised of the University of Wyoming, as the lead institution, and seven Wyoming Community Colleges: Casper College, Central Wyoming College, Eastern Wyoming College, Laramie County Community College, Northwest College, Sheridan College and Western Wyoming Community College.

Wyoming INBRE 4 Organizational Chart

Wyoming INBRE stakeholders include a wide network of individuals and institutions across the Mountain and Western regions of the United States. A complex relationship between the Wyoming Community Colleges, Steering Committee,  Developmental Research Project Program, UW Research & Economic Development Division, Administrative Core, Student Research Program, Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks, External Advisory Committee, Executive Committee and Data Science Core ensures that the entire network furthers the specific aims of of the Wyoming INBRE.

Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks (RAIN)

Wyoming INBRE is part of the Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks (RAIN), a collaborative effort that evolved from the recognized scientific needs of the rural mountain west, including Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming. By capitalizing on our scientific strengths, the RAIN network expands each state’s resource capabilities, faculty collaborations and student opportunities.
