Wyoming INBRE Cores
Administrative Core (AC) with the Student Research Program (SRP)
The AC is responsible for the overall management of the INBRE program and provides logistical support for the statewide Network. The Specific Aims of the AC are to:
- provide effective leadership and management including oversight and coordination of the Cores, Programs, Network, and governance committees (see below)
- provide an SRP that supports research experiences that enhance student research knowledge, skills, and awareness of academic and career trajectories in biomedical and health sciences
- provide support for Cores, Programs and the Network that facilitates building and sustaining the biomedical education and research community across the state
- share and promote resources available from other UW IDeA and NIH programs
- ensure that INBRE activities are compliant with institutional and government regulations
Developmental Research Project Program (DRPP)
The DRPP oversees the allocation of funding to support biomedical research and training at the University of Wyoming and advance biomedical research and training opportunities across Wyoming. It also works with regional IDeA programs to strengthen institutional bonds and create opportunities for students and faculty in the Western Region. The Specific Aims of the DRPP are:
- support faculty within the INBRE Network with a range of funding opportunities to support competitive research
- administer a transparent, rigorous, and fair system for evaluation and selection of proposals
- oversee mentoring and compliance for DRPP-supported faculty and students
- integrate DRPP goals and assessment with those of other WY INBRE Cores
Data Science Core (DSC)
The long-term goal of the DSC is to develop a robust data science infrastructure that increases the research productivity of Wyoming researchers and provides career-enhancing training for Wyoming faculty and students. The Specific Aims of the DSC are:
- support research computing and data science expertise at UW by enhancing and extending successful INBRE-4 programs
- foster development of data science skills at CCs and other relevant state entities
- expand the impact of the DSC’s work through continued engagement with regional and national INBRE programs and networks
Wyoming INBRE Statewide Network
The Wyoming INBRE statewide network is comprised of the University of Wyoming, as the lead institution, and seven Wyoming Community Colleges: Casper College, Central Wyoming College, Eastern Wyoming College, Laramie County Community College, Northwest College, Sheridan College and Western Wyoming Community College.
Wyoming INBRE 4 Organizational Chart
Wyoming INBRE stakeholders include a wide network of individuals and institutions across the Mountain and Western regions of the United States. A complex relationship between the Wyoming Community Colleges, Steering Committee, Developmental Research Project Program, UW Research & Economic Development Division, Administrative Core, Student Research Program, Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks, External Advisory Committee, Executive Committee and Data Science Core ensures that the entire network furthers the specific aims of of the Wyoming INBRE.
Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks (RAIN)
Wyoming INBRE is part of the Regional Alliance of INBRE Networks (RAIN), a collaborative effort that evolved from the recognized scientific needs of the rural mountain west, including Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming. By capitalizing on our scientific strengths, the RAIN network expands each state’s resource capabilities, faculty collaborations and student opportunities.
