Graduate Program Application Steps
A listing of faculty and their research areas is available through the Department of Zoology and Physiology web page.
Before submitting your application, prospective students should identify a faculty advisor whose research aligns with their interests and who is willing to act as your primary advisor during your time here. Please include a CV or information about your current experience.
Components of the application include your CV, college transcripts, and three letters of recommendation. We do not require GRE scores for admission to Zoology & Physiology.
Initiate a new application for your chosen degree program. International students must include a copy of their TOEFL scores. Additional information for international students can be found on the UW Admission's website.

Application Deadlines:
Admissions are done on a rolling basis for students who will be supported by a research assistantship from their major professor or who will have their own support in the form of a fellowship. If the student has completed the application and the major professor has support, admission decisions are generally done within a week’s timeframe. Students applying for a teaching assistantship who wish to begin in the fall semester should have their application completed, including letters of recommendation, by February 1. Students applying for a teaching assistantship who wish to start in the spring semester should have their application completed by September 15.
Minimum GPA:
Minimum undergraduate GPA is 3.0. Additional information is required for international applicants.
Neurosciences Program:
Students interested in the Neuroscience program should apply directly through their program.
