4-H members will have fun while learning more about dogs, pet citizenship, feeding, grooming, dog trials, breeds and their importance, over population, sharing a dog with others, health, dog language, community laws and careers.

This project teaches management, techniques related to nutrition, health, first aid, teeth and aging, in addition to horsemanship, fitting, showing, caring for tack and equipment, horse demonstrations and judging.

4-H members learn recommended finishing rations, how to give proper care to animals, and how to use good management procedures.

Pocket Pets

Pocket Pets

This project is for members interested in any pet – frogs, fish, ants, guinea pigs, etc. Pet selection, identification of breeds, parts of the animal, handling, housing, daily needs and health problems are taught.

Poultry

Poultry

All poultry projects give members training in the best recommended practices of hatching, brooding, and rearing poultry, marketing, dressing, breeds, egg production, breeding flock, fitting and showing, judging and demonstrations.

Members will decide whether they want to raise rabbits for meat, fur, wool, laboratory use, or showing, and select the best breed for the purpose.
