Bio
Dr. Hornecker received her Bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and her Doctor
of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wyoming. She then completed a pharmacy practice
residency at the Community Health Center of Central Wyoming. Her practice site is
the University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program in Casper, Wyoming, where
her practice and research interests include anticoagulation, diabetes, pain management,
substance use disorders, team-based care, underserved populations, and patient education.
Her academic interests include personal and professional development, layered learning,
and resiliency. Dr. Hornecker currently coordinates Therapeutics IV, and teaches throughout
the pharmacy curriculum in the Therapeutics series, Clinical Pharmacokinetics, and
Physical Assessment. Her current rotation offerings include ambulatory care I and
II.
Dr. Hornecker is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, a Certified Diabetes
Educator, and a Diplomate of the ASHP Foundation's Pharmacy Leadership Academy. She
serves as program director and primary preceptor for the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at
University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program and Health Care for the Homeless.
Dr. Hornecker is actively involved in both state and national pharmacy organizations,
including ASHP, AACP, WPhA, and WSHP.
