No. To become a CPA in Wyoming you must have a bachelor's degree, 30 semester hours of accounting, 24 semester hours of business study, 150 semester hours of college education, and one year of full-time work experience. We have implemented a 30 semester hour master of science in accounting program that you can complete in one year. This will satisfy the CPA exam requirement and, more importantly, give additional depth to your program. Of course, the master of science in accounting program is available for all of our students, not just those who are interested in public accounting.

In addition to the broad selection of student groups sponsored by the College of Business, the Department of Accounting is home to two very special groups: Beta Alpha Psi and a student chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants. These two organizations are a great benefit to students both professionally and socially.
Beta Alpha Psi is an outstanding student honorary group. Membership is by invitation only and is based on academic achievement. Our chapter of this national student honorary frequently earns national "Superior Chapter" honors, and it is recognized as one of the finest student groups on campus.
Our student chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants is open to all students with an interest in management accounting. The group has fared very well in recent regional competitions.
