College Pathways presentations are offered to high schools as a way to promote college and college preparation to sophomores and juniors.
Why are these presentations important?
- To encourage Wyoming high school students to pursue college and other post-secondary options. It is anticipated that the number of new college graduates in the near future will not match the number of baby-boomers retiring from jobs that require college degrees.
- Most college promotion focuses on individual colleges (why students should go there, etc.), and takes place between students who are already committed to going to college and their high school counselor, parents and/or college admissions professionals. This presentation is aimed at helping students who are unsure of college understand what college is and how it can be achieved.
The College Pathways presentation can be delivered in a variety of ways - in classes, at assemblies, or to small groups. UW Admission staff can also custom tailor the presentation to fit the needs of your students or to emphasize college preparation efforts currently underway at your school. The important point is this presentation is not solely for students who are already college bound.
We invite high school professionals to review the power point and contact us to schedule presentations at your school! Contact the UW Admissions Office at 1-800-342-5996 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
