Dr. Michael Harkin has interests in ethnohistory, the Northwest Coast, politics and symbols, and cultural models. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in anthropology from the University of Chicago. He teaches North American Indians for American Indian Studies

Research Interests:
Ethnohistory, cultural theory, politics and power, religious movements, transcultural representations.

Research Areas:
Northwest Coast (Heiltsuk, Nuu-chah-nulth), Southeast (The Lost Colony), Wyoming (public lands ethnohistory), France.
