Comprised of an evolving site-specific sculpture, Spool/Unspool, and a rotating frieze of video performances, Do, Do, Do, Do, Do explores the ergonomics of absurdity. Operations in the exhibition create an anti-spectacle and shift emphasis away from literal actions performed towards an abstract philosophical proposition. Within these tautologies, each repetitive action, sequence, or gesture seemingly negates itself; there is equal doing and non-doing, which adds up to nothing, but nothing is something too.

Trey Duvall’s work concerns entropy, futility, humor, duration, stamina, and material or physical exhaustion. His creative practice includes various forms of large-scale installation, video, performance, and other sculptural and organizational mediums.

In addition to site specific installation and performances, Duvall’s work has been recently exhibited at the Katherine E. Nash Gallery, Minneapolis, MN, RedLine Contemporary Art Center, Denver, CO, Rice University, Houston, TX, Triumph Gallery, Chicago, IL, Galerie des Beaux-Artes de Nantes, Nantes, France, Lawndale Art Center, Houston, TX, School of Visual Arts, New York, NY, and Plot Manifest, Marfa, TX. His work has also been featured on ABC News, the Houston Chronicle, and Art In America.

Duvall received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Houston, and is currently an artist in residence at RedLine Contemporary Art Center in Denver, Colorado, and acting Director/Curator at SITE Gallery Houston in Houston, TX.
