Chinese Ambassador's Wyoming Scholar - Application and Conditions - Deadline: Check back later in the fall

The Chinese Ambassador’s Wyoming Scholar (CAWS) program was established through the generosity of the Government of the People’s Republic of China and its Ambassador to the U.S., Zhou Wenzhong, in 2007.   This program funds one year of study in China and is a full scholarship covering most expenses associated with study other than travel to China.  The award goes to an outstanding student with a desire to pursue study in any field in China, including but not limited to study of the Chinese language.  Applications are welcome both from undergraduate and graduate students.

ASUW Service-Learning Exchange Scholarship - Application and Conditions

Deadline for Winter Break trips - Tues. 12/2/14

Deadline for Spring/Summer Break trips - Fri. 2/27/15

All fee paying undergraduate and graduate students are invited to apply for the ASUW Service-Learning Exchange Scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support to students participating in service-learning exchanges that foster a passion for volunteerism, promote leadership development, and help to create well-rounded students.

ASUW Child Assistance Scholarship - Application and Conditions - Deadline: closed until Fall of 2015

Nearly one in three students attending UW is a non-traditional student. These students make up a diverse group with a variety of life experiences, backgrounds, skills, responsibilities and needs. To lighten the financial difficulty of students who are parents, the ASUW has created a Child Assistance scholarship. This student must have a child dependent and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship will have a value of $1,000 for one semester and will be awarded the spring semester following application. This year, ASUW will be awarding 10 (ten) $1,000 scholarships. Previous recipients are encouraged to apply again with the understanding that each application will be given equal review and consideration.

Each year, ASUW sponsors four scholarships and hands out thousands of dollars to current and incoming students of the University of Wyoming. Check the information below about each scholarship to learn more about the programs ASUW Sponsors. 

 

ASUW James C. Hurst Scholarship - Application and Conditions - Deadline: December 12, 2014 at 4pm

As the Minority Student Leadership Initiative was one of James C. Hurst’s special and personal projects, the James C. Hurst Scholarship was established in the hope of recognizing and rewarding an outstanding Multicultural Student Leadership Initiative Mentee. In the spirit of the award, it is assumed that, as a part of their ultimate goals, the recipient will have worked to further the success of the Multicultural Student Leadership Initiative, the success of their own academic career, and success in other areas of student involvement at the University of Wyoming.

Charlotte H. Davis Scholarship - Application and Conditions - Deadline: December 12, 2014 at 4pm

As Freshman Senate was one of Charlotte Hearne Davis’ special and personal projects, the Charlotte Hearne Davis Scholarship was established in the hope of recognizing and rewarding an outstanding Freshman Senator.  In the spirit of the award, it is assumed that, as a part of their ultimate goals, the recipient will have worked to further the success of Freshman Senate, the success of their own academic career, and success in other areas of student involvement at the University of Wyoming.

ASUW Leadership Scholarship - Application and Conditions - Deadline: December 12, 2014 at 4pm

Leadership is an important part of a student’s time at college.  To encourage students to become involved in leadership activities at the University of Wyoming, the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming has created a leadership scholarship.  This student must have been an active member of the campus and community and have demonstrated leadership skills in these areas.  This scholarship will have a minimum value of $1,000 each semester and will be awarded the fall semester following application. This scholarship is awarded on a yearly basis; previous recipients are encouraged to apply again with the understanding that the most qualified applicants will receive the scholarship.

ASUW High School Leadership Scholarship - Application and Conditions - Deadline: Postmarked by December 12, 2014

Leadership is an important part of a student’s time at college.  To encourage students to continue their involvement in leadership activities, the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming has created a scholarship to be given to a graduating high school senior planning to attend the University of Wyoming.  This senior will have been an active member of their high school and community and will have plans to continue that involvement in college.  This scholarship will have a minimum value of $1,000 each semester and will be awarded the fall semester following application. This scholarship is renewable upon application each spring semester if the requirements continue to be met.
