Handshake and EPIC


Handshake

Handshake is the first stop and one of the Johnson Career Center's most utilized resources.

 

Use Handshake to:

  • Schedule appointments with the JCC
  • Discover and sign-up for Career Events

  • Connect with UW students and alumni

EPIC | Classroom to Corporate

EPIC is a unique resource we utilize to strengthen business students professionally to help them transition into a career after college.

EPIC is organized into milestones, which are small modules with videos, questions, and tasks to help strengthen various fields.

Although some of the milestones will be introduced in various business courses, all milestones are open to be completed at anytime.

The Rutgers Business Library provides a Business Research Guide to assist job seekers with research in a variety of business and management topics.

How to Apply for Internships

Once you have acquired an internship, follow this Guide.

International students may be asked to submit additional paperwork in order to receive credit for a paid internship. 

You may check the status of your application at any time within Handshake. Enable Email Notifications to receive quick updates.

Professional Development and Travel Fund

 

What is This?

The Peter M. and Paula Green Johnson Career Center, in partnership with other donors, will provide financial support to University of Wyoming business students pursuing career and professional development activities that may include internships, conferences, and other networking events that increase the prospects of a student securing meaningful post-graduation employment.

This fund is possible thanks in part to Northwestern Mutual, Union Pacific, John Accardo, Richard and Gena Prinster, Nancy and Mark Anselmi and the Outlaw Inn, Dave and Elizabeth Auge, Von Rhea, Nicholas and Maggie Grooms, Ted and Jennifer Grooms, and the Hertel, Soss, and Woodson Endowments.

 

Who May Apply:

College of Business undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing.

*Please Note: Per university regulations students must be enrolled in at least 1 credit hour for the semester they are requesting funds in order to recieve their scholarship.

 

 

How to Apply:

All students applying to receive funds must now provide:

  1. At least one letter of recommendation from a faculty member, supervisor or mentor reflecting how the travel or opportunity will impact your career development,
  2. A one page double-spaced statement of purpose telling us what the opportunity is and how it will positively impact your career development
  3. A line by line budget that shows what you are expecting your expenses to be, and
  4. The online application. Apply Now

Deadlines:

In order for you to recieve funding for your conference, internship, or other networking event your application MUST be received by the Johnson Career Center in its entirety at least 30 days before the funding is acquired. Any incomplete applications will not be considered for funding.
