Dr. Khaled A.M. Gasem was appointed dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science in September 2013. He also serves as the Associate Provost for Graduate Education.

In his previous position at Oklahoma State University, Dr. Gasem held the titles of Regents Professor, Bartlett Chair, Interim Dean of the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology, and Head of the School of Chemical Engineering. The Regents Professorship at OSU is the highest honor a professor can achieve in terms of academic credentials.

Dr. Gasem is a graduate of the University of California, Berkley (B.A. - 1976), the Colorado School of Mines (M.S. - 1979), and Oklahoma State University (Ph.D. - 1986).

A Call to Excellence - The UW Tier-1 Initiative

In May 2012, Gov. Matt Mead, the Legislature and the Wyoming Governor’s Energy, Engineering, STEM Integration Task Force articulated a vision to propel the College of Engineering and Applied Science and the University of Wyoming to the realms of excellence in instruction, research and service.
