Tau Beta Pi Chapter Recognizes UW Students and Faculty 2016

The annual TBP Awards Banquet was April 15.

The University of Wyoming Alpha chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society, has released its award recipients for 2016. The awards were presented at the annual TBP Awards Banquet on April 15 at the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center.

Tau Beta Pi is the only engineering honor society representing the entire engineering profession. It is the nation's second-oldest honor society, founded at Lehigh University in 1885 to recognize students of distinguished scholarship and exemplary character.

Steve Barrett is the chief faculty adviser for TBP at UW.

Outstanding Sophomore: David Tobin

Outstanding Junior: Vivaswat Shastry

Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award: Eva Ferre-Pikal, Ph.D.

Sam D. Hakes Outstanding Graduate Research and Teaching Award: Mohammad Piri, Ph.D.

TBP Outstanding Staff Award: Laurie Bonini

CEAS Outstanding Staff Award: Heather Warren

Wyoming Eminent Engineer: Patrick T. Tyrrell, P.E.

Alumnus Eminent Engineer: William Dolling

Outstanding Tau Beta Pi Member Award: Dakota Robeson

Joint Engineering Council Outstanding Senior: Robert Lucas Cloud
