CEAS Students, Faculty Invited to Seminar Series

Students, staff and faculty in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) are invited to attend seminars for the John P. Ellbogen $50K Entrepreneurship Competition. The seminars begin this week and run throughout November at the University of Wyoming.

The Ellbogen Entrepreneurship Competition is designed to encourage all students, regardless of discipline, in the UW community to act on their talents, ideas, and energy to produce tomorrow's leading businesses. Many of the competitors in recent years hailed from the CEAS and include engineering, computer science and atmospheric science students.

The $50K Competition awards cash prizes to outstanding teams of student entrepreneurs who submit their business plans for new ventures showing significant business potential. As part of the competition, speakers from various backgrounds offer seminars. The first such event is Thursday, Nov. 1, followed by four more through Nov. 15.

Seminar Schedule
All seminars from 5:30-7 p.m. in College of Business Room 21

• Thursday, Nov. 1 – Market Validation & Strategy: Making sure that people want what you have to offer

• Tuesday, Nov. 6 – Sales and Marketing

• Thursday, Nov. 8 – Business Finance, Accounting & Legal: Making sure you are covering yourself internally to be successful

• Tuesday, Nov. 13 – Business Resource Network: Resources to help you succeed

• Thursday, Nov. 15 – Review & Practice: Hands-on work with RND 2 presentations
