The Dutta research group focuses on the design of novel micro- and nanofluidic instrumentation that can enhance our ability to probe chemical and biological samples in cost effective ways. Ongoing projects in this group include investigations on micro/-nanoscale separation methods, microfluidic immunoassays and advanced sample preparation methods for bio-detection applications. In a different effort, the Dutta research group members are also involved in designing novel micro-/nanofluidic batteries that relies on the conversion of electromechanical energy into electricity.
