He began his career playing in bands at a local and regional level. He is considered “A gifted solo artist with a band-brain, he plays masterfully off the musicians who surround him and he creates a salon-style performance space where the audience is a welcome extension of the band.” Dodds has been named as one of CMT’s #18FOR2018 Listen Up Artists. Rolling Stone named him one of their November 2017 “New country artists you need to know,” and praised his “smooth pop-country crooning over arena ready arrangements, distinguished by clever lyricism.” He has over 13 million on-demand streams in the US to date.
