Get Ready for Fall

The ECTL is excited to announce a variety of options to help you get ready for teaching this fall. Last spring you did an amazing job of pivoting online mid-semester. Now you have the chance to reconsider course design at a more intentional pace. See below for more details on options that are available and to enroll in any of the workshops, please click on our online form below.

  • Week-long course (synchronous and asynchronous) in Digital Education. This course will help you with course design, assessment, best practices, and more. The majority of the course is asynchronous with the following synchronous meetings each week.
    • Monday 10:30- 12:00
    • Wednesday 2:30-4:00
    • Thursday optional webinars through the day
    • Friday 1:00 -2:30
  • This course in digital education will begin with you thinking about clear objectives that will be met in a digital format. You will also consider assessment of online student learning and then consider what digital activities and tools you might use in order to meet course and assess course objective. In this course, you will be building a WyoCourse shell as you go along. Everyone in the course will be assigned a mentor from our pool of highly experienced online instructors that you will have access to during the week and beyond as you work to make final revisions to your course. Please note that the deadline to sign up for the week-long course is Wednesday by 5:00. Courses run every week until August 21, 2020. For faculty who qualify for stipends, you will receive $1,500 once you upload your new/revised course.

  • Apply to have a mentor on stand-by. We have a group of experts in digital teaching and learning ready to help if you would like a self-directed approach to redesigning your course. These mentors are here as a resource if you get stuck, want to think things through, or just want to share your awesome work.

  • Beginning in August, we will be offering a Quality Matters Training. This program gives you rubrics as a guide to design courses using best practices in online course design.
