Faculty Learning Communities

The Ellbogen Center for Teaching and Learning sponsors several faculty learning communities that bring together various groups of faculty and graduate students from across campus to engage in active and collaborative programming for the purpose of enhancing teaching and learning.

2020-2021 UW Cross-Discipline Academic Writing Fellows (UWAWF) program.

Facilitators: Rick Fisher (Communication Across the Curriculum) and Kathleen Frye (Art Education Faculty)

NOTE: Applications due August 28

This program promotes greater scholarly productivity through mentoring, retreats, writing groups, community-building, and other features. This fall's program also includes virtual workshops led by Helen Sword, and international writing scholar and coach. In this first year for campus-wide participation, the program hopes to achieve a strong blend of participation across colleges, disciplines, and levels of experience. The program also takes the view that faculty become better teachers of writers, in part by becoming more aware of their own writing processes and practices.

Interested UW Faculty members should contact Rick Fisher for more information. Applications are due August 28, 2020.
