Applying to FIGs is Easy!
You can submit your FIGs application in one of three ways:
1. When completing your online Residence Life & Dining application
Simply select which FIG you'd like to join and your FIG application will be emailed to the FIGs Coordinator.
Click here to open the form, your application will be emailed directly to the FIGs Coordinator.
If you are accepted into a Freshman Interest Group (they do fill up fast!), you will be placed in the residence hall area assigned to that FIG. Freshman Interest Group acceptance will be given priority over other living plan choices marked on your housing contract. You must return your Residence Hall and Food Service Contract and deposit before you can be enrolled in a FIG, so be sure to mail it and your FIG application together.
Assignments to a FIG and FIG housing will be made on a date-priority basis, depending on when UW receives your applications. It's important to send your application as soon as possible, and at the same time you return your housing contract.
The deadline for all Fall 2016 FIG applications is mid-May, 2016. Students will be notified of their acceptance as applications are received.
Placement in a FIG is not guaranteed, and students will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis
FIGS and New Student Orientation - You are encouraged to attend one of the New Student Orientation sessions in order to complete your registration for fall semester classes.
