About You Fund

You Fund is the official University of Wyoming crowdfunding platform.  Crowdfunding is the practice of sourcing small contributions from a large number of people to provide funding for a particular project or campaign. Established in fall of 2016, You Fund was created not only to raise money for some amazing programs and areas but also to keep donors, friends, and alumni informed about what’s going on at UW. As of mid-2020, You Fund has hosted more than 50 campaigns, received support from more than 3,500 donors, and raised more than half a million dollars.

For Donors

Supporting a You Fund project is easy!  Donors can support a single or multiple projects in a simple one-time checkout process. There is no minimum or maximum gift amount. Your gift will go directly to the cause you select to support. Even in the event a project doesn’t make their fundraising goal, all the funds raised will still be directly distributed to that project.  To make a gift, simply select the campaign and choose the “Make a Donation” button. All major credit cards are accepted.  Gifts are tax deductible (if donors itemize), and all donors receive a receipt for their gift.

For Those Creating a Fundraising Project

You Fund allows UW students, faculty, and staff to bring their ideas directly to their community, who in turn can support those projects. Our project leaders themselves get to share with the world their projects in their own words. They set goals, create videos, and write the campaign and project descriptions. Their community, in turn, can be plugged in to the project with regular updates on exciting project developments and impact.

Creating a project is easy!  All students, faculty, and staff fundraising on behalf of a university-sponsored program or organization are able to utilize this platform. If you are interested in starting a campaign, please submit your idea by clicking on "Submit Your Campaign Idea" in the menu at the left and filling out the form.
