Degrees

Students can earn a major, minor or joint master's degree in Environment and Natural Resources from the Haub School:

• Undergraduate major or minor
• Master's level major or minor
• Doctoral minor
• JD/MA (in conjunction with a UW law degree)

Our Philosophy

The Haub School promotes the study of interdisciplinary environmental and natural resource challenges in a scenic Rocky Mountain Valley, at an institution named a 2011 "Best College in the West" by the Princeton Review. Notable for small class sizes and innovative pedagogy, the Haub School has a reputation for student-centered education. The School attracts motivated students and creative faculty who share a commitment to interplay among diverse disciplines. By encouraging students to join unlikely talents and interests--imagine for instance the union of conservation biology, economics, and painting--the School supports uncommonly rich study of complex environmental systems. Furthermore, students build their understanding throughout the program toward the year-long capstone course, where they delve into an environmental assessment, adding depth to their educational experience.

Collaboration

Haub School students can take courses from experts at ENR's Ruckelshaus Institute. The Institute specializes in collaborative decision making, facilitation and negotiation, produces publications and hosts events to support and inform citizens and decision makers working on natural resource issues.

Haub School students can also participate in the Wyoming Conservation Corps to get hands-on natural resource management experience through service-learning on Wyoming's public lands.

History

Since its inception in 1993, the School has garnered the support of donors inspired by its dedication to advancing the understanding and resolution of natural resource issues. A 2004 endowment from Helga and Erivan Haub ensures that this tradition will endure.
