The mission of the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) is to advance the understanding and resolution of complex environmental and natural resources challenges.
Through our academic programs, the William D. Ruckelshaus Institute, and UW's new Biodiversity Institute, the Haub School of ENR:
- Educates undergraduate and graduate students through innovative and interdisciplinary teaching;
- Supports stakeholder-driven solutions to environmental challenges by communicating relevant research and promoting collaborative decision making;
- And fosters conservation of biodiversity through discovery, education, and outreach.

Haub School Thesis Defense Presentations
Throughout the end of the semester ENR graduate candidates will be presenting their thesis defenses. Please join us for these public presentations.
U.S. Forest Service and Ruckelshaus Institute Open Houses
Join us for an open house in Laramie, Steamboat, or Saratoga to learn about the past, present, and future state of our forests following the bark beetle outbreak. See the schedule.
Collaboration Program in Natural Resources
The 2013 Collaboration Program in Natural Resources was launched this April by the Ruckelshaus Institute. Sixteen professionals and individuals, whose work involves land and natural resource management, will meet six times throughout the year to discuss Wyoming lands and policies.
Bim Kendall House earns Gold level LEED certification
Our buildings, the Bim Kendall House and the Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center both earned LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for sustainable design and construction.
