Department: Office of the Registrar


The University of Wyoming invites applications and nominations for the full-time position of University Registrar. The Registrar reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs and leads the development and implementation of innovative and accountable records policies and processes for recruitment and retention of students. The Registrar will:

* Provide administrative leadership and supervision for the Office of the Registrar, which has a full-time staff of 15, including two associate registrars
* Work collaboratively with an established strategic enrollment services team, faculty, staff and leadership of the university.
* Have effective interactions with students, families, and other constituencies.
* Partner with Wyoming community colleges and other entities in implementing a statewide longitudinal data system and other collaborative projects.
* Qualify students for graduation and coordinate commencement exercises.
* Reflect a strong commitment to diversity.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Have earned at least a master's degree in a related field
* Have five years of progressive responsibility for registration and student records in a higher education institution
* Have five years of experience with large computerized student information systems (Banner experience preferred) and an ability to apply technology to records management processes and communications.
* Have five years of significant budget and human resource management and program responsibility
* Have a demonstrated working knowledge of FERPA

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience developing and applying academic and administrative policies to support enrollment management goals and the university mission.
* Experience with originating and implementing programmatic enhancements.
* Experience managing the permanent records and imaging systems of an academic institution.
* A demonstrated ability to apply new technology to records and registration processes and communications.
* Experience interpreting and applying federal and NCAA athletics regulations to academic support and student records decisions.
* Superior oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Demonstrated success building strong working relationships throughout the university community.
* Experience planning and managing transition processes for new students from varied backgrounds (e.g., transfer, military veteran, non-traditional age, and international students).
* Experience with strategic planning and student learning outcomes assessment.
* A record of adaptability to changing environments, policies, and student needs.
* Participate in state, regional, and/or national professional organizations.
