HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES LIAISON LIBRARIANS (two positions: #0121 &; #1472)

The University of Wyoming Libraries invites applications for the positions of Humanities Liaison Librarian and Social Sciences Liaison Librarian.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as liaison librarian to multiples departments in the humanities, social sciences (includes business), and interdisciplinary subject areas. Specific assignments will be made based upon the needs of the Liaison Program, and interests and expertise of individuals. Provide support for faculty and student research through communication and outreach. Develop partnerships between academic areas and the Libraries for curriculum, research, scholarly communication and digital initiatives. Provide information literacy instruction and research services to faculty and students in accordance with ACRL Standards for Libraries in Higher Education. Some evening and weekend work required. Conduct an active and ongoing program of professional development, scholarship and service. Both positions report to the Chair of Research &; Instruction Services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: MLS from an ALA accredited institution. Education or experience in a humanities or social sciences discipline. Demonstrated ability to work independently and adapt in a changing work environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the Libraries and with other campus units.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience providing research and instruction services in an academic library with emphasis in humanities, social sciences, or interdisciplinary subject areas. Experience with asynchronous teaching and learning methods. Understanding of the humanities and social sciences research processes. Experience providing outreach regarding scholarly communication and rights management. Knowledge of emerging trends in digital collection creation. Understanding of the issues and challenges related to curation and preservation of research data.

For Humanities:

Understanding of the uses and applications of digital humanities scholarship.

For Social Sciences:

Experience finding, using and analyzing data.

Experience with government documents and business sources.
