Computer Training Opportunities
The Division of Information Technology provides hands-on computer training for the University of Wyoming. Computer training workshops are developed by staff in Information Technology. Hands-on workshops are conducted in rooms 171 and 173 of the Information Technology Center. Lecture/demonstration seminars are also presented on specific topics. This program provides computer training in Microsoft and Adobe software for university faculty, staff, students, and retirees.
The computer training lab in the Information Technology Center is open at specific times during the week for the use of computer-based tutorials, and to provide individual opportunities for one-on-one consulting. Self-Paced Training is available for university faculty, staff, students, and retirees
Information Technology has online training available for users across campus. This is an additional, more extensive option for users interested in self-paced training. The self-paced training can now be accomplished from any computer with an internet connection 24 hours a day, seven days per week. This online training option has a total of more than 1,100 courses and more than 67,000 tutorials organized by subject and software. The courseware is designed for learners of all levels from beginner to expert and is a free service to the university community. Please see our Self-Paced Training page for more information.
Specialized Training Requests
Requests for specialized training sessions are considered when the requested course content is not available through current instructor-led workshops or when a unit requests training for a specific group. Preparation for, and teaching of, special workshops must not interfere with the current campus-wide training schedule.
Fees for specialized training sessions are $100 for the first hour, and $50 for each additional hour. This fee covers the instructor's time and up to 200 copies of single-page handouts.
Hands-on training sessions conducted in the training classrooms on the first floor of the Information Technology Center are limited to twenty-four participants.
If books for campus-wide training workshops are desired, they must be purchased separately at the price listed on the Class Descriptions web page.
Requests and questions should be directed to IT Computer Training.
