The mission of International Students and Scholars is to educate and inform the international population; the University of Wyoming community; and local, state and federal entities of the regulations governing the enrollment of international students and scholars.
International Students and Scholars supports the University's goal to internationalize. The Office partners with other offices, departments, and divisions at UW to nurture the growth of an international community and to assist in the development of a campus environment that is responsive to their needs.
International Students and Scholars provides a broad range of client-centered programs and services and is the primary resource for the international community at the University of Wyoming. The Office advocates on behalf of international students and scholars and provides programs that assist them in adjusting to a new university, community, country, and culture.
International Students and Scholars is located in Suite 5 of the Cheney International Center (basement of Student Health) on the University of Wyoming campus. Our mailing address is International Students and Scholars, Dept 3228, 1000 E University Ave, Laramie WY 82071 USA.
Also located in the basement of the Cheney International Center, the International Resource Center (IRC) provides opportunities for a wide variety of cross-cultural activities to enrich the experience of international education at UW. A study lounge/meeting room, international publications, a student exchange library, satellite television, and a computer lab are available to meet all student needs. In addition, the IRC serves as a regular meeting site for several international groups. The IRC is open daily from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
The International Resource Center (IRC) promotes international educational exchange through it's services and programs. The mission of the IRC is to assist in creating an environment that is supportive and conducive to meeting the educational, intellectual, and social needs of the UW international population in particular as well as the campus community at large. The IRC is one of several services responsible for assisting in the campus wide facilitation of meaningful dialogue on the value and importance of human diversity.
