Dr. Readdy joined the University of Wyoming in 2010 after completing his Ph.D. in Exercise and Sport Science at Oregon State University in 2009. Originally from Sacramento, CA, Tucker earned his B.A. at the University of California, Berkeley and his M.A. at San Diego State University.

Before joining the University of Wyoming, Dr. Readdy’s research was primarily focused on the relationship between exercise and mental health, including publications related to muscle dysmorphia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and the popular television show The Biggest Loser. Since then, Tucker has developed a line of inquiry centered on the psychological and sociological experiences of coaches and athletes within the collegiate sport context. He is particularly interested in the synergy between the scholarship related to self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan, 2985, 2000), coaching pathos and orchestration (Jones & Wallace, 2005) and reflexive practice (Gilbert & Trudel, 2001). To advance his interests, Dr. Readdy has provided sport psychology consulting services to a number of athletes, coaches, and sport teams at UW, currently including volleyball as well as previous work with football, men’s basketball, tennis, and women’s golf.

In addition to his research, Tucker has served on multiple committees within Kinesiology and Health and is the current Graduate Program Coordinator. At the university level, Dr. Readdy acted as Chair of the Faculty Senate for the 2015-2016 academic year and has been the College of Health Sciences representative to the Graduate Council for the past two academic years.
