Background:

  • Kinesiology is about the scientific study of human movement, addressing physiological, biomechanical, and psychological principles and mechanisms underlying human health, behavior, and sports. It is also a unique domain where natural/basic and social/applied sciences interact to tackle problems of human performance and health.
  • Philosophical differences between Eastern and Western cultures in understanding the role of movement or physical activity and promoting human health exist. A global effort and communication platform to share diverse perspectives on the science is needed.
  • The University of Wyoming, partnered with Shanghai University of Sport (SUS), and Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), is hosting the first international Grand Teton Summit (August 2024), which aims to:
    • Address global perspective on sports science and health behavior
    • Highlight a novel model of international collaboration for cultivating new generations of scholars, athletes, and coaches
    • Promote the intellectual exchange of minds situated in nature and physical activity

Faculty $900  Student $300
