Alan K. Simpson Center for Legal Service

The Alan K. Simpson Center for Legal Service

Since 1920, the College of Law has been a key professional academic unit of the University of Wyoming. From its humble beginnings in the UW Library to its own facility in 1953, the College of Law has consistently helped students become critical thinkers and leaders.

The year 2020 was the college’s centennial anniversary. This historic milestone was marked by the creation of the Alan K. Simpson Center for Legal Service initiative to construct a new addition to the college to support clinical and experiential learning.

The College of Law currently runs eight legal clinics and practicums, providing much-needed legal services to the state of Wyoming. While these critical programs are central to the identity of the University of Wyoming College of Law, the space to house them has been historically lacking. With over half of the clinical programs located in a separate building off campus, the Alan K. Simpson Center for Legal Service seeks to bring all of clinics under one roof with secure accessibility for clinic clients.
