The Mechanical Engineering accepts applications throughout the academic year. Only complete applications are considered for admission and graduate assistantships. Our application process is very competitive. For full admission, a GRE total score (verbal and quantitative) a minimum of 294 (master's) or 307 (doctoral) is required. Applicants must also submit a statement of purpose that should include your expected area of study. International applicants are also required to complete the TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language). TOEFL scores a minimum score of 577 on the written exam or 90 on the Internet-based test (iBT) is required.
Financial support for qualified graduate students is available mainly in the form of research and teaching assistantships. A limited number of assistantships are available to highly qualified candidates. All assistantships require course work and research activities that are usually coincident with the MS thesis or PhD dissertation topic. Students obtaining support in conjunction with a grant are obligated to perform research which will help meet the obligations of the principal investigator to the funding agency.
