Two candidates will interview for the Student Educational Opportunity
(SEO) director position the weeks of Jan. 14-25, at the University of
Wyoming.
Candidates Tony Montoya and Pilar Flores will participate in two days of
on-site interviews and give public presentations on the topic "How to
Systematically Build Access and Increase Persistence in Higher
Education."
Montoya's presentation is at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, in the College
of Agriculture auditorium. Flores' presentation is at 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 23, also in the College of Agriculture auditorium.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend both sessions, ask
questions and evaluate the candidates. Individuals with disabilities

Montoya currently is the Colorado State University-Pueblo Affirmative
Action/Diversity and Multicultural Center director, a position he has
held since 2004. He previously worked at the University of Northern
Colorado in Greeley and at Denver's Metropolitan State College.
Flores, the SEO interim director, has served previously in associate
director, project director and coordinator positions in SEO since 2000.
Before that, she held positions at the University of New Mexico-Taos.
A screening committee, chaired by Noah Buckley, UW admissions director,
narrowed the pool of applicants and identified strengths and challenges
for the top candidates. Sara Axelson, vice president for student
affairs, will make the final selection. Evaluations of the candidates
are requested to assist in selecting UW's new SEO director.
