Applications are now being accepted for the 2009 Energy Summer Institute sponsored by the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources. The Energy Summer Institute is a two-week summer residential program for students currently enrolled in ninth grade. It is also open to the state's public school teachers.
This year's program begins Sunday, June 7, and ends Saturday, June 20. Students will
have an opportunity to take part in an exceptional summer program relating to the
energy industry, spend two weeks on the UW campus and develop new and long-lasting
friendships.
The institute will feature courses including "Energy Efficient Architecture," "Energy
on Earth," "Cultures of Energy" and "All Things Geo: An Exploration of Geospatial
Technologies for Understanding Energy Resources." Students will also have the opportunity
to participate in a variety of recreational, cultural and social events, as well as
an optional trip to Winter Park Resort in Colorado. Room and board, travel and group
activity costs are covered by the School of Energy Resources.
