Manufacturers and technology-based firms in western Wyoming have a new resource to bolster their businesses.
Teton County facilitator and trainer Frances VanHouten has aligned with the Manufacturing-Works technical assistance program to offer training, facilitation and strategic planning services in mechanical engineering and marketing, team building and product development.
"These are skills that are in increasing demand given the current challenges facing Wyoming manufacturers and technology-based companies," says Larry Stewart, Manufacturing-Works director based at the University of Wyoming.
A partnership of the National Institutes of Standards and Technology, the Wyoming Business Council and UW, Manufacturing-Works is a Wyoming non-profit that provides technical assistance, training and engineering solutions to Wyoming manufacturers and companies.
"We have helped individual manufacturers increased profits by hundreds of thousands of dollars by capitalizing on optimal manufacturing and businesses processes," says Stewart.
VanHouten, a nationally certified facilitator, holds degrees in mechanical engineering and organization development. In 1999 she established RainMaker Coaching LLC that provides training, facilitation and strategic planning services throughout the region.
"Through the resources of Manufacturing-Works, the potential for manufacturers and business owners is huge," she says.
