Wyoming musician Cary Judd will perform a free concert from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at the University of Wyoming Simpson Plaza.
A popular singer-songwriter, Judd has called the tiny town of Moose his home for the past six years. He recorded his critically acclaimed album, "Goodnight Human," in his basement studio.
Judd increases the dynamic range of his songs by including looping machines, drum machines and computer-based sounds and programs into his music. He says he draws inspiration from U2, Johnny Cash, The Cure, The Smiths and the Stone Roses.
Performing Songwriter Magazine praised Judd as "the perfect marriage between moxie and maturity." The Eclectic Collection, whose debut single "Huang Shan" (The Ah-ha Song) received airplay on more than 40 Triple AAA stations, was picked up for distribution by Sony Red and released in October 2009.
In January 2010, Judd recorded his follow-up EP in Los Angeles with producers Mikal Blue (Colbie Caillat, Five For Fighting, One Republic, Augustana) and Andrew Williams (Five For Fighting, Alice Peacock, Jessica Simpson).
"Now that I'm really where I want to be as a writer and artist, my goal is to expand beyond the regional touring I've done and develop into an artist whose songs are heard and appreciated throughout the country," Judd says.
