The University of Wyoming Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will host “Diversity Fair: A Community Celebration” Friday, April 17, from 4-7 p.m. in War Memorial Fieldhouse.
The free event is open to the campus community, statewide high school students and community members. The fair is in collaboration with the Shepard Symposium on Social Justice, UW Athletics and UW Employee Networks.
“The ‘Diversity Fair: A Community Celebration’ is an occasion to welcome and create a sense of belonging, and to celebrate communities of diverse social identities,” says Emily Monago, UW’s chief diversity officer. “We are extending an invitation to local and regional organizations that support diversity to promote a welcoming and belonging community in Wyoming.”
An assortment of food options will be provided free to attendees. Activities for families, including a bounce house, craft tables, an inflatable obstacle course and basketball hoops, will be set up in the fieldhouse. Attendees can meet with UW athletes, receive signed autographs and play games. Various activities for all ages and abilities will be provided, and opportunities to win prizes during the event will be available.
