UW Choirs to Present ‘WyoSING!’ Oct. 6

The University of Wyoming choirs will present “WyoSING!” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall.

Tickets are $12 for the public, $8 for senior citizens and $6 for students. A nominal processing fee will be charged for each ticket. To purchase tickets, visit the Performing Arts box office, call (307) 766-6666 or go online at www.tix.com/ticket-sales/uwyo/6984.

The concert will feature the UW Collegiate Chorale, Bel Canto, the Singing Statesmen, the Laramie Civic Chorus, 7220 Blues and the Happy Jacks. Brian Murray, an assistant professor, and O’Neil Jones, a visiting assistant professor, both in the UW Department of Music, will conduct the choirs.  

The Happy Jacks will perform “Ragtime Cowboy Joe” by Muir and Abrahams; “Yesterday” by Lennon and McCartney; and “I Want It That Way” by Martin and Carlsson.

The Laramie Civic Chorus, conducted by Jones, will perform “Verleih’ uns Frieden” by Felix Mendelssohn and “All the Way Home” by Sarah Quartel.

7220 Blues will perform “Crazy” by Nelson.

The Singing Statesmen, conducted by Murray, will perform “Spark of Light” by Andrew Steffen and conducted by UW graduate student Emily Peterson; and “Hosanna” by Reginal Wright.

Bel Canto, conducted by Jones, will perform “Alle, Alleluia” by Bruce Tippette and “Fences” by André Thomas.

The Collegiate Chorale, conducted by Murray, will perform “Apamuy Shungo”; “Missa Pastoril Gloria” from “Missa Pastoril,” CPM 108 by Jóse Mauricio Nunes Garcia and conducted by Peterson; “Le pont Mirabeau” by Lionel Daunais; and “The Word Was God” by Rosephanye Powell.
