UW and Wyoming APEX Accelerator to Host Veterans Workshop Series

Veterans who are small-business owners will have an opportunity to learn about contracting with the federal government Tuesday, Nov. 7, and Thursday, Nov. 9.

Rick Brown, Dustin Frost and Adam Pauli will discuss the subject during a Wyoming APEX Accelerator workshop titled “Service to Success: Small Business and Contracting Workshop Series for Veterans” from 11 a.m.-noon both days. To register, go here. Registration is free.

Wyoming APEX Accelerator, part of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network housed at the University of Wyoming, is the state’s expert in government contracting assistance.

During the Nov. 7 workshop, Brown, director of the Veterans Business Outreach Center for Big Sky Economic Development; Pauli, a veteran and owner of Symmetry Trailers; and Frost, owner of a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB), will discuss the process and resources available for veterans to start and grow their businesses.

On Nov. 9, workshop moderators will provide information on how to do business with local, state and federal governments; direct veteran small-business owners to registrations that can assist them in obtaining federal contracts; and talk about free resources that are available. Additionally, the discussion will focus on federal government set-aside contracts for SDVOSBs and veteran-owned small businesses and the certification process through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
