UW Chamber Orchestra to Present ‘Palladio’ Oct. 15

The University of Wyoming Department of Music’s Chamber Orchestra opens its fall concert season Sunday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall.

The orchestra’s program, “Palladio,” will feature old and new works for chamber orchestra, including Concerto Grosso No. 5 by Charles Avison; “Chacony” for string orchestra by Henry Purcell; “Hungarian Folk Dances” by Béla Bartók; “The Spirit of the Mesa” by Gwyneth Walker; “Palladio” by Karl Jenkins; and “The Bear and the Eclipse” by Anne Guzzo.

The ensemble will repeat a portion of the concert at the State String Clinic in Cheyenne at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29.
