UW Percussion Ensemble Fall Concert Nov. 13

The University of Wyoming Percussion Ensemble presents its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall.

The concert, the first conducted by new percussion faculty member Christian De La Torre, will feature some of his favorite music to direct, perform and teach.

De La Torre is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado-Boulder, where he received his Master of Music degree studying with Doug Walter. A Florida native, De La Torre received his Bachelor of Music in percussion performance from the University of Central Florida, where he studied with Thad Anderson, Kirk Gay and Jeff Moore.

He is an active percussionist and timpanist based in Longmont, Colo., and currently serves as principal timpanist of the Longmont Symphony Orchestra and performs with many orchestras in the surrounding areas.
