Hospitality and Tourism Job Fair for UW Students Feb. 15

A job fair for the hospitality, tourism and outdoor recreation industries is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, in the University of Wyoming College of Business atrium.

The fair is open to employers looking to staff up for seasonal operations or to promote year-round career opportunities for recent graduates. UW students seeking internships, summer employment or career opportunities are encouraged to attend.

Registration for the fair closes Friday, Feb. 9. Employers and students can register through Handshake at https://bit.ly/HandT_registration2024.

UW’s Wyoming Outdoor Recreation, Tourism and Hospitality (WORTH) Initiative, the College of Business and the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources host the event.

“Tourism is the second-largest industry economically in Wyoming and the largest employment sector with over 30,000 people employed,” says Dan McCoy, a co-sponsor of the event and interim director of the WORTH Initiative. “We know from our partners that staffing is one of the largest challenges facing the industry. We are hoping to pair interested and qualified students with career and job opportunities to support these important industries.”

Students interested in attending the fair should register in advance; drop-in attendance also is encouraged. Students who register in advance can seek out the specific employers in attendance, share resumes and communicate with potential employers through Handshake.
