PokeBot V6.01 Technology Event Scheduled Feb. 6 at UW

PokeBot V6.01, a “Pokes doing strange things with technology” event, is scheduled from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the University of Wyoming.

PokeBot V6.01 will be in the Information Technology Center atrium -- home of the UW Innovation Network (UWIN) Make-IT makerspace. The free public event is a hacker, maker, creative series that features innovative UW students, faculty and staff, and members of the public.

“If something creative, unique and maker-like is happening in Laramie, then you can expect to learn more about it at PokeBot,” says Jane Crayton, UWIN makerspace coordinator.

To register for the free event, click here.

The overall PokeBot V6.01 program is a drop-in event at the Information Technology Center, located on the east end of Sorority Row. Although preregistration is not required, those who preregister will receive a reminder email to attend the event.

The program will feature four presenters, live music and networking with light refreshments.

Presenters, listed by name, major, hometown and program, are:

-- Bree Drew, a studio art major from Afton, fursuit building and engraving.

-- Fabian Negrete, a studio art major from Jackson, building a 3D printed fursuit.

-- James Willis, a computer engineering major from Rainier, Wash., resin printing and airbrushing custom DnD figurines.

-- Daisy Bentley, a studio art major from Cheyenne, stained glass art process and approach to creating stained glass.

DJs OsVinci and Jane daPain will provide live music.
